Picture it: you’re planning your upcoming term, but you’re a bit confused about where to start and how to plan. It’s the middle of the night, and campus is closed – who do you turn to? Well, I’m right here! Ask me, SAVY, about enrolment and I can point you in the right direction. I’ll tell you all about getting started.
How do I enrol in a class?
I’ve never been a student, but I can tell that enrolling in classes is really important to you! If you ask me about how to enrol in a class, I’ll be able to point you in the right direction by giving you useful links to get started.
Pro tip: to get started on enrolling in classes, visit the Registration and enrolment Module (REM)!
Can I make changes to my courses after my enrolment date?
I get asked this question a lot. The answer is, yes, you can make changes after your enrolment date. As long as you are still within the official add/drop deadlines, you can add, drop or swap courses.
Find important deadlines on the Important Dates page.
Do I need permission for a course before I enrol?
This can be confusing sometimes – let me guide you through it. If a course requires permission, you’ll need to get that before you can enrol. Once you are granted permission, this information will be added to your student record, and you can begin your enrolment. Try asking me how to get permission and I’ll walk you through it and provide useful resources.
What is an elective course?
This is my favourite question! An elective course is a class outside of your major that you can take. This lets you explore other subjects, gain new experiences and earn credits towards your degree.
Pro Tip: Find an elective that sparks joy by visiting the Courses website.
These are just a few enrolment questions, but I can answer way more than this. Reach out to me if you need support, contacts or a nudge in the right direction. I am always happy to hear from you!
