1. Make a Schedule!

Now that you have a week free to yourself, use your time wisely by making a schedule! We know that procrastinating is really tempting, so a schedule will help you get some work done, while giving yourself time away from course work to catch up with friends, enjoy Toronto or spend some quality time at home.

If using a schedule works well for you, consider planning out your Winter Reading Week to make the most of your week off!

2. Start Job Hunting!

February is a great time to start your Summer job hunt! A lot of employers start to post job listings around this time, so keep your eyes peeled for any volunteer positions in your field, summer internships and employment opportunities! Although it may seem way too early to start thinking about your summer plans, Winter Reading Week is actually the perfect time. Before you know it, you’ll be completing your final assignments and exams, and it’ll be May! By taking some time to prepare now, you’ll have most of your plans ready and you can enjoy the summer months!

4. Catch up on School Work!

While Winter Reading Week is a great time to take a breather, it’s important to catch up on any work you may have left behind or to get ahead on future assignments or readings. You can also organize a study session with your peers to prepare for any upcoming midterms!

5. Enjoy Toronto!

Toronto has tons of amazing activities, so why not take a little time off during your Winter Reading Week and explore the city? You can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, from the Toronto Light Festival in the Distillery District to ice skating at the Bentway Skate Trail. If you’re looking to stay indoors, we highly recommend visiting a board-game café (Snakes & Lattes is a very popular option, but there are many others) or Ripley’s Aquarium.
