The beginning of a new term is exciting: you are starting new classes, catching up with friends and getting back into the swing of campus life. If you are a new student this term, you may be looking for opportunities to explore York, meet new people and get involved. The York Federation of Students’ Frost Week is organized with these goals in mind. Every term, the York Federation of Students (YFS) celebrates the beginning of the academic session by hosting a week-long event full of fun welcome-back activities around campus. These week-long events known as Frosh Week in September and Frost Week in January bring the campus community together and help first-year students transition to university. The 2018 Frost Week celebration took place from January 8 to January 13 this year, and the #YUBlog took part in the fun! Come to Frost Week with us as we check out some of the events and let you know what happened this year.
Frost Week always brings the community of York together to celebrate and enjoy some games, culture, and laughter before term two begins. YFS always does a wonderful job at setting everything up and we applaud them for another successful Frost Week. If you didn’t get a chance to check it out this year, keep it in mind for next January and visit the York University Events calendar to see all of the cool activities happening on campus.
