Hi there! You’ve reached an older post on the #YUBlog that may no longer contain relevant or up-to-date information. For the latest posts on York University go to our homepage where you can also search for posts by topic.

How do we welcome high-school graduates? By having them walk the red carpet onto our campus!

The 5th Annual Walk With Excellence was held at the Keele Campus on May 24, 2017. In celebration of their achievements, hundreds of graduating high-school students from our neighborhood, including CW Jefferys Collegiate Institute, Westview Secondary School, Downsview Secondary School, and Emery Collegiate Institute paraded onto York University’s Keele Campus, where they were met by a crowd of professors, college presidents, community members and current York University students. Along the walk, there was entertainment including the CW Jeffreys’ Drum Line playing loud and proud as each student took their first step forward to being a university student.

As you can see, each graduating face was filled with excitement, energy and happiness which made the Walk With Excellence a grand success for both the students and the York University staff who cheered them on.

What's up YU Blog! It's your girl Breanna! I am a third-year student majoring in Communication Studies and English. Just a few things about me: I'm a city girl who enjoys Netflix TV shows (a little too much), travelling to new places, listening to hip hop, eating brunch, being a fashionista and petting dogs. Overall, I hope my articles inspire you and educate you!
