Hi there! You’ve reached an older post on the #YUBlog that may no longer contain relevant or up-to-date information. For the latest posts on York University go to our homepage where you can also search for posts by topic.

Have you ever thought of doing a fun summer school course, but decided not to because of cost? Well, here’s a fascinating secret: York offers free courses where the credits are worth zero, but the fun is 100+!

Since the S2 summer term begins June 19, here is a list of the available courses:

  • Swimming
  • Yoga
  • Pilates
  • Modern practical self-defense
  • Strength training
  • Dance in movies and videos of popular culture,
  • Track and field
  • Emergency care

These courses are offered through the Faculty of Health’s Kinesiology & Health Science program. They’re affectionately known as PKINS – Kinesiology & Health Science Practice.

4 Steps to Finding Summer Courses:

Step 1: Go to the York Courses website.

Step 2: Go to Search Current Courses and click Subject.

Step 3: Choose Summer 2017 and PKIN – Kinesiology & Health Science Practice (HH).

Step 4: Look through the Current Courses list and choose your summer activity!

What's up YU Blog! It's your girl Breanna! I am a third-year student majoring in Communication Studies and English. Just a few things about me: I'm a city girl who enjoys Netflix TV shows (a little too much), travelling to new places, listening to hip hop, eating brunch, being a fashionista and petting dogs. Overall, I hope my articles inspire you and educate you!

I have seen that these courses are also available in the fall/winter term, would they also be free? Or is it free just for the summer ?
