Last night I had the privilege of going to the Music Media Concert organized by York’s Music Students Association. It was an orchestral production themed around iconic music from movies, television and video games. The one-hour performance highlighted pieces from video games such as Star Fox, Ace Attorney, Zelda, Super Mario Bros and Metroid, films like Star Wars and Batman and television shows such as Naruto (a personal favourite). Our fellow York student Wayne Alphonso conducted the amazing show consisting of ten pieces in total.
The quality of the production, the flowing sense of nostalgia in the audience . . . it truly was an incredible experience. For those of you who missed it, I at least snapped a few photos to capture some of the magic. Take a look:
For those among you interested in orchestral productions, this is a must-see. Even for those not familiar with the orchestral scene, such as myself, I would highly recommend you experience the Media Music Concert at least once during your time here at York. You will not be disappointed.
