You’ve made the decision to go or return to university — and what a good decision that is! If you’re transferring from college or another university, or are a mature student, chances are York University can get you there more quickly by fast-tracking your admission. You may be just steps away from kick-starting your future. Sound interesting? Let’s talk details.

WHAT: Fast tracking is a quick, in-person while-you-wait admissions service. Eligible candidates can expect to have their admission in hand within two business days.

WHO: Students transferring from a college or university other than York, or those considered “mature,” that is, everyone older than 20, who have already applied to York. Don’t miss your application deadlines!

HOW: Apply to York. Then gather ALL admissions materials needed for your program of choice, fill out the required forms and come see us. Need some help completing your documents? Our fast-track admissions experts are happy to assist you in person.

WHEN: York offers fast-tracking sessions throughout the year. Use the Online Appointment Scheduler to book your in-person session.

WHERE: The third floor of the Bennett Centre on York’s Keele Campus.

WHY: You probably don’t need any more reasons beyond what you’ve read here so far, but just in case you do, this is what two Lions who recently fast-tracked have to say about the option. Take a look for yourself.

Ashley Ward, who began her bachelor’s degree in Administrative Studies in May 2015, described her overall fast-tracking experience at York as “enjoyable.” “My admissions assessor Brian was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He was very responsive and supportive through the entire process. He was able to help guide me through the process when it could have become confusing. I would highly recommend fast-tracking to students who are looking to enrol. The process is quick, helpful and not intimidating.”

Ashley says the in-person interview with an assessor made all the difference.

Joy Moro has a passion for research and the possibilities it provides for pharmaceutical solutions in the fight against disease around the world. That is why she fast-tracked into York’s Biotechnology program this summer. She too felt that meeting directly with an assessor, rather than emailing back and forth or speaking on the phone, and visiting the campus in person made all the difference in her admissions process. Her one-sentence assessment of the fast-track option? “Fast-tracking at York is an excellent choice for students who are prepared to excel and be the best among the best, because who you will be tomorrow is determined by the choices you make today.”
