Pan Ambling

Hello friends,

Just wanted to share some important traffic-related news with you so you can adjust your regular routes on campus, if need be. You can expect similar updates periodically throughout the summer.

The Pan Am and Parapan Am Games will kick off in 49 days, starting on July 10 and wrapping up on August 15.

In order to get the campus fully ready for these exciting events, some final work is necessary in the area around the CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Athletics Stadium, more commonly known to York students as the Toronto Track & Field Centre.

For the next two weeks, periodic walkway and lane restriction will be occurring on Thompson Road in the general west of the West Office Building. A visual has been provided below.

Please note the arrow pointing to the West Office building and the circle around the affected area.

In order to minimize any impact to the York community, the contractor performing the work will be available during work hours to assist in safely directing both pedestrians and vehicle traffic.

Please be mindful of all traffic signs as well as traffic control personnel and keep in mind that you might experience some small delays.

Community Information Sessions

There will also be an upcoming info session for community residents living in the Jane/Finch community on June 2 from 6 to 8 pm at the Christian Centre Church, Main Gym located at 4545 Jane Street, south of Shoreham. The info session will offer general information about the Games and details about transportation and security.
