With the New Year comes change, and the Faculty of Fine Arts is no exception. In the past, academic advising has been provided by each individual department. Now, the departments have joined together and formed the Office of Advising and Integrated Student Services (or OAISS) which is located in the Goldfarb Centre for the Fine Arts!

Academic advising has always been extremely important for students pursuing their undergraduate degree. M0st students make an appointment about once a school year to make sure they are fulfilling their requirements and will be able to graduate on time. You can also figure out how to double major, or add in a minor as well as earning scholarships and awards through an advising appointment.

School can be stressful without academic advising.

The fact that this is now integrated will make it much easier to find out information about courses across the Faculty instead of just within your own department. There are specialists who know more about one department, but it is my understanding that anybody working at OAISS will be able to help you out…which should make it easier to get an appointment!

Appointments can be made online here, or by email at or by phone at 416-736-5135.
