Welcoming Students With YorkFest

The Festival Village at YorkFest.

After being away from York for four long months, it can be difficult to get back in the swing of things. To help welcome students back and reminded them about how fun life at York can be, the York Federation of Students presents YorkFest: an annual welcome week that takes place during the first full week of classes.

YorkFest is open to all York students and includes a jam packed schedule with events every day of the week. One of the highlights of YorkFest is the Festival Village which serves as an opportunity for students to become familiar with a over 200 student clubs and services. Each club or service will have a booth with representatives who will be able to answer any questions students may have.. This year the Festival Village will include a free barbeque when you show your YU-card.

In addition, the week always includes an on-stage musical performance by a recording artist (with past performers including Matthew Good and Kardinal Offishall), movie nights and fun interactive games. Keep an eye on the YorkFest website for details regarding the weekly schedule of events and who will be performing on stage.
