Let’s dive into the five things you may not know about me, and how you can connect with me to get guidance!
1. Finding information about classes, programs and grades
Have you ever needed to add courses, but didn’t know where to start? We’ve all been there. Not to mention, after you finalize your classes and complete assignments, you need to find your grades – but how? What if you need to change your courses, or even your program? There’s so much that can happen throughout your studies, luckily there’s services for you.
When you message me with questions like these, I will offer you resources for your next steps, contact information and more. Even if you need to speak to a human, I can direct you to your academic advisor – the perfect spot to get your studies sorted out.
2. Sorting out finances
Finances are going to be a big part of your academic journey. I can answer questions about paying your fees, getting connected to scholarship opportunities and applying to OSAP.
Imagine you’re starting a new term, but you don’t exactly remember what day your tuition is due, or what page to visit for your total. Try asking me, “When is my winter term tuition due and how do I pay it?” and my response will point you to your student account, and pages to learn more about paying. Neat, right?
3. Gathering resources
There’s a lot to take advantage of on campus, including a variety of resources that you can use throughout your time at York. Whether you’re looking for academic support, well-being services, study help, career guidance and more – I can get you there.
Pro tip: While I don't know what program you’re in, with some information about your situation, I will be able to connect you to resources, advising and more offered by your home Faculty.
Sometimes life can get stressful, especially when you’re balancing your studies with everything else. If you need mental health and well-being support, or if you know someone struggling, I can help. Whether there’s a crisis during the day, or late at night, there are supports that can be reached any time – and I can get you there.
4. Getting from point A to B
Across York's campuses, there are hundreds of buildings – in some of which you’ll have lectures, seminars and tutorials.
